Can I Start to Drive from 16?
You can drive a car when you are 16 if you get, or have applied for the enhanced rate of the mobility component of personal independence payment (PIP). Otherwise, you must be 17 years of age. You can apply for your provisional before your 17th Birthday and you can always start to prepare for your theory test.
What will I do on my first driving lesson?
You must be able to read (with glasses or contact lenses, if necessary) a car number plate made after 1 September 2001 from 20 meters.
How long will my practical driving test be?
Your driving test should last approximately 40 minutes.
How many lessons do I need?
Everyone is different and learns at a different pace but on average the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (the DVSA) estimate that an Average learner students at the age of 18 and at zero experience with average learning speed need around 35-40 hours tuition before being ready to take their test, plus 20 hours of private lessons with family member.
If you need more than 50 hours, there are usually some factors holding you back that your instructor will be able to identify. That is the recommended hours by DVSA. Age, Experience, learning style and many other factors play important part in the number of lesson someone is having.
What type of car will I be driving?
We have a range of modern cars which all come with dual controls for your peace of mind and safety. If you ever want to request a car to learn in feel free to ask our office and we will try to accommodate.
Do you offer theory test training?
Yes we do! Follow our social media! usually on Sunday at 12 midday and Wednesday 7:30pm we do live training on tiktok and the rest of the day playing the recordings. Also all the recording is available in our telegram group for people to see it if they missed it!
Do I get charged for cancelation?
Yes, we must charge for cancellations unless you give 48 hours notice prior to your lesson. That is a standard notice period with all driving schools.
How should I have my lessons to save money?
By having 2 hours lesson you make learning process faster and save money! By having your lessons often you learn faster and need less lessons.
Our experience shows pupil having 2 or 3 lessons each 2 hours, during a single week save over £500 in the long run, during their total journey of learning drive from beginner to test ready stage!

Can I start my driving lessons before passing my theory test?
Yes you can and probably should, as the practical experience will help you understand the questions and answers contained in the theory test. What you study for the theory test will also be very helpful in your practical lessons
How do I pay for my driving lessons?
Should I go for intensive Driving lessons?
Intensive courses may sound like a good idea but most people need time to absorb and reflect on what they learn. Regular tuition is important and two of three lessons a week in the first few weeks is usually best.
Do Aceway Offer Intensive ( Fast track) Courses?
Yes, we do offer intensive driving courses. These courses are always above 6 hours of driving lessons per week. Although, most learners opt to do 10+ hours per week. However, you must of passed your theory test before booking an intensive course. This is to ensure you can get a test date.
Do you offer Pass Plus?
Can I take my Practical Test before doing my theory test?
No. A theory test certificate is now required by all persons wishing to take a practical test.
